About this role
Reach Group, a UAE staffing and outsourcing firm, is hiring a Senior Data Engineer on contract for a client delivering enterprise data products, with deep SQL Server/T-SQL expertise in a UAE government-linked environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of enterprise data products
- Design and maintain complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures and performance-tuned SQL Server objects
- Build data ingestion, automation and integration scripts in Python
- Apply dimensional modeling, SCDs and enterprise data warehouse patterns
- Design and operate data quality frameworks with structured DEV/UAT/PROD release processes
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering or related field (Master's a plus)
- 7+ years of hands-on data engineering experience with deep Microsoft SQL Server expertise
- Advanced T-SQL: complex queries, stored procedures, functions, indexing, performance tuning, execution plan analysis
- Intermediate Python for ingestion, automation and integration
- Strong written/spoken English and stakeholder management skills
- Preferred: Tableau exposure, UAE federal/government platform experience, SQL Server/data engineering certifications, prior UAE/GCC public-sector experience
